The rally, held in the picturesque town of Kotagiri, was not just a procession but a powerful message on the importance of women’s education, the imperative of 100% voter turnout, and the urgent need to curb educational dropouts.

The Drive for 100% Voter Awareness

Heeding the Election Commission’s call for heightened voter awareness, the rally aimed to ensure that every vote is cast knowingly and conscientiously in the upcoming parliamentary elections. It’s a step towards fortifying democracy and ensuring that every voice, every vote, is counted.

A March Through Kotagiri

Starting from the historic Kotagiri Kamaraj Square, the rally wove through the heart of the city, returning to the square, becoming a moving forum for public education. About 200 students, alongside notable figures such as Dr. Vimala Rani, founder of Seek Foundation, and Mr. Alwas, Secretary of NAWA, infused the streets with the spirit of knowledge and empowerment. Embracing a much-needed pause from their regular academic schedule, students from grades I through VIII took center stage in a series of competitions designed to spotlight their innate abilities and foster child development. This remarkable event, sponsored by Seek Foundation, an esteemed NGO committed to nurturing young minds, brought together approximately 150 students in a celebration of talent and perseverance.

 

 

The competitions were meticulously arranged to cater to a broad spectrum of talents, including coloring, drawing, handwriting, and a spirited outdoor running race. These activities not only provided a platform for students to exhibit their talents but also encouraged a healthy sense of competition and camaraderie among them. The palpable excitement and determination of these young competitors highlighted the importance of such events in promoting child development and uncovering hidden talents.

 

Pride and joy were evident as Mrs. Sasi, the revered Headmistress of Government Middle School, Pallikaranai, presided over the prize distribution ceremony. The event honored the outstanding achievements of the participants, with the top three talents in each category receiving well-deserved prizes. This gesture of recognition played a crucial role in boosting the confidence and morale of the students, reinforcing the value of their hard work and dedication.

Visit to Premavasam

Seek Foundation, in its ongoing commitment to serving the community, organized a special visit to PREMA VASAM, a home for mentally, physically challenged, and less fortunate children located in Gerugambakkam.

PREMA VASAM stands as a beacon of hope, providing dedicated care to a large number of special children, regardless of their caste, creed, religion, or financial background. The home aims to unlock the potentials of these children and enable them to serve others, offering essential services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and play therapy.

During the visit, students from ST. BRITTO’S MATRICULATION, Adambakkam, accompanied by their teachers, had the opportunity to engage with the children at PREMA VASAM. They distributed clothes, stationery items, and spent quality time interacting with them.

This meaningful experience left a lasting impact on the students, who gained invaluable insights into gratitude, empathy, and the importance of appreciating their own blessings, including having supportive parents and access to quality education facilities.

Seek Tailoring Centre Celebrates Graduation Day 2022-2023

A total of 180 accomplished ladies, hailing from the 2022 and June 2023 batches, proudly received their well-deserved course completion certificates.

The occasion took a special turn as the management identified 90 outstanding graduates, shining stars in their course of study. To fuel their journey towards self-reliance, these exceptional ladies were bestowed with tailoring machines, a tangible tool to kickstart their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Mega Health Camp Benefits Manapathi Village

On the morning of Sunday, September 24th, Manapathi village was buzzing with activity as residents gathered for a significant event—a mega free health camp aimed at addressing and supporting general health concerns of the community.

The camp, operational from 9 am to 3:30 pm, provided essential health services such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and eye examinations. A dedicated team of doctors and nurses was on-site, offering individual consultations and advising villagers on their specific ailments, emphasizing the importance of continuous medication as prescribed.

In total, approximately 250 villagers availed the benefits of this health initiative, a testament to the community’s proactive approach towards their well-being.

What made this event even more commendable was the active participation of teachers, scouts, guides, and college students, all of whom played crucial roles in ensuring the camp’s smooth operation and success.

Empowering Women through Tailoring in Vayalur Village

In the picturesque village of Vayalur, on the 30th of August, 2023, an empowering change began its weave. As part of an initiative to bolster economic self-reliance and empower women, a tailoring class was inaugurated, offering training sessions that would span over six months.

The course saw enthusiastic participation, with 15 women enrolling to master the craft of tailoring. Throughout the training, they were introduced to the intricacies of stitching everyday essentials. From blouses, skirts, and churidars for women to frocks and tops for children, the curriculum was meticulously crafted to ensure the participants acquired a comprehensive skill set.

Mastering the craft wasn’t solely confined to the training sessions. To guarantee the proficiency and confidence of each participant, an examination was instituted. This wasn’t an ordinary test; it involved a viva session where each participant displayed an album filled with miniature samples of their work, bearing witness to their dedication and learning journey throughout the course.

The examination process was spearheaded by Mrs. Rani, an external examiner with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship. Her invaluable insights and feedback ensured that the participants left well-equipped to handle professional tailoring tasks in the future.

ASSET 2023

Organized by Seek Foundation, the ASSET event unfolded over two days of thrilling competitions. Day 1 witnessed intense Knock-out Games, setting the stage for the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals on Day 2.
Across Senior and Super-Senior categories, both boys and girls in A and B divisions engaged in nine different games, including Basketball, Football, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Handball, and Throwball.

ASSET not only tested skill and endurance but also became a spectacle for the public, offering a choice of exciting games to watch. The event’s greatest success lay in its wide reach across Chennai, bringing students from various boards—Matriculation, CBSE, and State board—to a common platform.

Perfectly planned, organized, and executed, ASSET 2023 stood true to its expectations, showcasing the spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and skill fostered by Seek Foundation.

Royal Gridlock 2023

In collaboration with Fefdy Curriculum, Seek Foundation orchestrated the cultural spectacle, “Royal Gridlock,” themed “BELIEVE YOU CAN,” on August 4, 2023. Hosted by St Britto’s Academy, the event marked a celebration of diversity and talents.
In 2023, 23 schools participated in various competitions, showcasing outstanding performances. Royal Gridlock, designed to instill confidence, rhythm, harmony, and artistic expression, featured diverse events such as dance, music, drama, art, cookery, channel surfing, Adzap, lawyer up, 2 minutes to fame, and more.
Starting at 9:30 am and meticulously organized within the school premises, the event witnessed vibrant performances evaluated by expert judges in the fields of art and music. The thundering applause during the Valedictory function echoed the appreciation for the winners.
“The beauty of life lies in the diversity of its people, and the beauty of St.Britto’s lies in the diversity of Talents and Skills.” This cultural fest celebrated uniqueness, fostering innovation and eliminating inequalities.
